MINISTRIES: OUTREACH
Open Bible Fellowship is very serious about Outreach and Missions.
Our church provides INSTE. INSTE is a five year course offered by Open Bible Standard Churches which gives people the opportunity to meet with other people to receive bible school training in our area. It is more than an extension course because their is the group interaction that is also a valuable part of the learning opportunity.
We are linked with Tom Stamman (prophetic evangelist) in prayer, support, regular meetings in our church. Monthly we see people coming to Christ in these meetings. We were excited to have Tom come to our local college campus DMACC. Several accepted Christ that night.
We support the Brandts in Papua, New Guinea. These are friends from our Sister Open Bible Church in Des Moines: Heartland Open Bible. Their missions work is in New Guinea.
Supporting Missionaries through Open Bible Standard Churches as well as other agencies
Dan and Cindy Slocum and their girls: Amy, Whitney and Holly left from our church to go into missions. They moved to North Haiti in the Fall of 2000 to began a more permanent presence in their Mission Work after making many short trips their over the last few years in conjunction with Cindy's home church in Massachusetts. They are presently in the states after a long stay in Haiti.
We were thankful and excited to be able to finance the building for an Open Bible Congregation in Nondimedu, India the end of 2000. Their reports are very exciting when we learn of many who have come to Christ since that time as well as other new churches they have planted in their area. It is exciting to know we were able to be a blessing in this work.
