EVENTS: PAST EVENTS FROM 2006

Harp and Bowl at KHOP
(Patterned after the International House of Prayer of Kansas City model) is usually the third Friday of the month. However, for July, we did our Harp and Bowl at KHOP (Kingdom House of Prayer in Des Moines) on Tuesday evening July 26th sometime 6:00-8:00PM. This event combines worship, prophetic singing, proclamation of scripture, and praying the scriptures into our present day. The evening was powerful.

Lakeside Service
June 25th we joined with seven other churches for a special worship service and baptism at Gray's Lake in Des Moines. Our speaker was be Nick Vendetti, head of INSTE. Nick gave his message in English and in Spanish. It was a sweet spirit in the area. One of our friends from the Asian church said, "It's like the sermon on the mount". People brought blankets and lawn chairs and we gathered by the waters edge. The Lord blessed with beautiful weather and a wonderful flow of the Spirit.
It was wonderful to see all the people getting baptized by their pastors from the different churches lined up in the water at the same time yet each one going under the water one at a time. Pastor Wally says one of his favorite things about being a pastor is baptizing and was excited to be able to baptize one of our own. The potluck following was a fun time of fellowship. We thank Healing River Church for setting up this very special event.

Workshop of the Holy Spirit
This seminar focused on how to live and minister in the Holy Spirit. It was a experiential training on the gifts of the Spirit and moving in the Holy Spirit. The last session was April 27th.

Ministry Mentor
This Special Series of Classes was for those who feel called to some level of ministry, whether it be more active ministry within the current church they are in, or full time or part time ministry. This class dealt with the practical issues of ministry a person will probably not get in Seminary or in Bible School.

Foundational Christian Teachings Class
This class gives the believer a quick and solid skeletal understanding of the most important Christian doctrines. The last of the series may be repeated as others sign up for the class.

"Falling In Love With Jesus" Valentines Weekend
February 11 & 12th. Brad Stiles, gifted musician and worship leader at the large Assembly of God Church in Cedar Rapids shared music and message at our Saturday night banquet. Brad also led our Sunday worship and gave the message the next day. The delicious Meal was catered by Tasteful Dinners of Ankeny.
