A Blueprint for "Building Up"

We want to specifically help each one to know how to grow; so we have created a basic "blueprint" for Growth to help each person have a visible guide in growing spiritually:

Our Goal For You Is From Col. 1:28

"We proclaim Him, admonishing every one and teaching every one with all wisdom,
so that we may present every one
complete in Christ."

A "BluePrint" Building Up Our Spiritual Lives

Assessment and Planning

Our goal is for you to be spiritually whole. Our desire is, as the Bible says, that you may be filled “with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way”

Colossians 1:9-10

This tract is a basic guideline or “blueprint” to help in building you up spiritually. It is blueprint for you to use to see what basic things are needed in your spiritual life to bring strength, understanding and maturity. As you complete each building block, check off the appropriate building block in your process.

You will also have a friends from our church to help encourage you in your spiritual life. We are here for you so please feel free to call, visit, attend and join in as we all together as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house. 1 Peter 2:5 NASB.

In building up our spiritual lives we have identified important spiritual

building blocks which help bring a person into maturity and strength.

You can use this tract to monitor and direct your growth.

Check off each Item as you have completed it:

   Salvation I have come to salvation through Jesus Christ and I have been baptized.

   The Foundational Christian Teachings (study book) These are basic teachings every Christian needs to understand.

   I have studied and understand the following:

 Understanding Salvation

 The Word of God

 The Old Life & The New Life in Christ

 The Old Testament Law and The New Testament ‘Law’

 Baptism

 Prayer

 The Baptism in the Holy Spirit

 The Spiritual Gifts

 The Return of Christ

 Hell

 Heaven

 Spiritual Warfare

 Deception and Making the Gospel Known

 The Church

   Getting in the Habit of Regular Involvement - An absolute must for Christians. As with a blazing campfire, if all the logs are pulled out individually and are left by themselves on the hard earth, they soon dwindle and die to nothing! We need the encouragement, love and faith continuously shared together with one another. The Bible commands: “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another…” Hebrews 10:28-29

   How To Live In The Church - This second set of short studies to many people may not seem important at first, but it is of extreme importance in having a healthy and happy church experience. Here again, write your name on the cover then check off each lesson as you go through it:

I have studied and understand the following:

 Love is the Greatest

 Team Work

 Freedom

 Openness

 Gossip

 Correction

 Unity

 God’s Purpose for Authority

 God’s Authority in the Church

 New Testament Leadership

 Elders

 Headship

 Criticizing or Helping

 Contributing

   Church Membership - The Lord has very strong feelings about our being a part of His body; so church membership is considered very important in Open Bible Fellowship. The requirements for membership are Salvation, Believer’s Baptism, becoming regularly involved in the church and completing two studies: The Foundational Christian Teachings and How to Live in the Church. Give a written note to the church requesting membership. The Elders are to be sure you understand your salvation and the basics and have met the requirements; then, on their approval, you will be officially welcomed into the membership of the church during a public church service.

   A Part of Ministry - As part of the church, the Body of Christ, each person is gifted and is to assist in ministry in some way. Whether helping with secretarial work, making cookies, calling on people, teaching a class, cleaning the building, singing, praying, preaching, bookkeeping, being up front or behind the scenes, everyone is needed. When each person does their part, it makes for a strong and effective church.

One sign of the maturing process is when one starts taking delight in ministering to others rather than demanding only to be cared for and fed themselves.

   Continuing Discipleship - There is always more to learn and to share. We are to continue to grow always in the Lord.

Continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of… II Tim. 3:14
